Service Description

Saturday, March 7th (1 Hour - 1:00 to 2:00) In this class, local homesteader and permaculture designer, Lauren Craig, will share all the information you need to start a compost pile of your own and/or how to revive your current pile. Topics discussed include various methods of construction, how to "build" a "healthy" pile, monitoring, turning, and troubleshooting your pile, as well as how to harvest and use your compost! Additionally, she’ll discuss annual + perennial plants that can be foraged and/or grown to speed up your compost pile and that can be used to boost your annual garden. About Your Instructor: Lauren is a local homesteader and permaculture designer who spends her days designing gardens, landscapes and homesteads for clients worldwide. She specializes in incorporating edible, medicinal and native plants in her designs and is passionate about empowering others to grow more of their own food. She resides on her 1-acre homestead with her 2 children, and their goal is to generate 80% of the resources needed to sustain their existence within 10 years' time.
