Year-Round Gardening with Permaculture

Service Description

Saturday, April 4th 10:30-12:30 (2 hours) Permaculture designer and local homesteader, Lauren Craig, will share insight on how to grow a year-round vegetable garden. She'll share lists of what can be grown throughout each season, as well as straightforward plans on how to construct your own raised beds and a hoop house with basic materials, no construction experience and in any size space! Additionally, she'll discuss the how's, why's, and when's of using companion plants, cover crops, and other organic amendments + fertilizers in your garden and will hopefully ease your mind with her carefree strategies on how to grow your own food with very little time to spare. Lauren's Annual Garden Design book is included in the class, so you'll walk away with detailed plans + raised bed designs for growing food year-round; with 4 designs for spring + summer and 4 designs for fall + winter, so you can immediately implement what's discussed, should you like! About Your Instructor: Lauren is a local homesteader and permaculture designer who spends her days designing gardens, landscapes and homesteads for clients worldwide. She specializes in incorporating edible, medicinal and native plants in her designs and is passionate about empowering others to grow more of their own food. She resides on her 1-acre homestead with her 2 children, and their goal is to generate 80% of the resources needed to sustain their existence within 10 years' time.
